Styled Wedding Shoot at The Grande Victorian | Abhilasha + Prasann

A Modern Romantic Styled Wedding Shoot at The Grande Victorian

When love, fashion, and artistry converge, magic happens. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a styled wedding shoot featuring the beautiful Abhilasha (@kato_nato on IG) and her real-life fiancé, Prasann. This stunning couple, who traveled from Raleigh to Charlotte for the experience, brought authenticity and undeniable chemistry to a shoot that blended editorial elegance with timeless romance. Set against the backdrop of The Grande Victorian in Monroe, NC — just outside of Charlotte — this shoot encapsulates everything I love as a Charlotte wedding photographer: storytelling, connection, and style.

The Venue: Grandeur Near Charlotte

The Grande Victorian is one of the Charlotte region’s most breathtaking wedding venues. Located in Monroe, NC, just a short drive from Uptown Charlotte, this venue offers the best of both worlds: historic Southern charm paired with elegant, light-filled spaces that photographers dream about. With its ornate architecture and lush surroundings, The Grande Victorian provided the perfect setting for an editorial-inspired shoot that any Charlotte bride could draw inspiration from.

The Bride’s Look: J. Majors Boutique in South End

For Abhilasha’s bridal look, we collaborated with J. Majors Bridal Boutique, a luxury bridal shop based in South End, Charlotte. Their curated selection of designer gowns is one of the reasons brides from all over the Southeast travel to shop there. Abhilasha wore a breathtaking slinky, off-the-shoulder gown with a leg slit that exuded modern glamour while keeping an air of timeless bridal elegance. Her look was completed with chic earrings, also from J. Majors Boutique, reinforcing the boutique’s reputation as a one-stop destination for Charlotte brides who value both fashion and quality.

The Groom’s Style: Classic Meets Modern

Prasann complemented his fiancée beautifully in a sleek black suit, providing a refined balance to the bride’s bold, editorial gown by bridal designer Jenny Yoo. The couple’s real-life love and natural ease created genuine moments that elevated the entire shoot, reminding us that styled sessions are at their best when infused with true connection.

The Details: Florals, Hair, and Makeup

Every styled shoot comes alive through details, and this one was no exception. The bouquet, designed by The Blossom Shop in Charlotte, combined yellow roses with white florals for a fresh, romantic pop of color against the backdrop of The Grande Victorian.

To complete the bride’s transformation, Katherine “Kath” Bracamonte of Kath Makeup Artistry worked her magic with editorial-inspired hair and makeup. Bold eyeshadow and expert contouring brought a touch of high-fashion drama, while the polished hairstyle framed Abhilasha’s features perfectly. Kath’s artistry ensured that every photo radiated with sophistication.
